Dr. Covington is a distinguished General Surgeon with over 30 years of expertise in wound care. A recognized leader in his field, he lectures extensively across the U.S. and internationally on wound management and hyperbaric medicine. His insights and experience make him a trusted advisor on wound-related issues to industry leaders and governmental agencies.
As Chief Medical Officer and Director of Wound Care Education for Healogics, Dr. Covington played a pivotal role in training and mentoring thousands of physicians and nurses, advancing clinical excellence in wound care. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and holds Fellowship status with the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Covington completed his undergraduate and medical education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before undergoing surgical training at the University of Texas in Houston. Additionally, he pursued specialized research through the Thomas G. Cronin Fellowship in Plastic Surgery and Wound Healing at the University of Texas.
A certified Hyperbaric and Wound Specialist with the American College of Hyperbaric Medicine and an active member of the Wound Healing Society, Dr. Covington continues to contribute significantly to medical education and the evolution of wound care treatment protocols.

Dr. Michael Lusko

Dr. Michael W. Lusko brings over 47 years of extensive clinical expertise to our organization, spanning administrative leadership and direct patient care.
For the past 17 years, Dr. Lusko has focused on pioneering innovative programs designed to optimize wound care systems, ensuring improved patient outcomes. He holds Diplomate status with the American Board of Wound Healing and the American Board of Wound Management and is also Board-Certified in Hyperbaric Medicine and Emergency Medicine.
His career includes roles as Medical Director of Wound Care Centers,
Emergency Departments, local Ambulance Services, and County Emergency Fire Rescue Systems. Notably, Dr. Lusko also served as the Medical Director of the Critical Care Team for the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars and visiting professional football teams during their games in Jacksonville.
A dedicated educator, Dr. Lusko has presented at national medical conferences and mentored physicians specializing in wound care. His contributions include teaching within hospital residency programs in Emergency Medicine at trauma centers in Denver, Colorado and Jacksonville, Florida, as well as in national training programs for future medical directors in Wound Care.

Dr. Paul Johnson

Dr. Johnson is one of only a few physicians in Florida who is fellowship-trained and board-certified in Hyperbaric and Dive Medicine. He has more than 20 years of experience in sports medicine, family practice, and wound care. Dr. Johnson practiced medicine in Montana for more than 17 years providing care to local communities, schools, sports teams, and law enforcement agencies.
As the medical director of hyperbaric medicine at Halifax Health in Daytona Beach, Florida, Dr. Johnson’s expertise in wound care, concussions, and traumatic brain injury has allowed him to expertly administer hyperbaric oxygen therapy to his patients.
Board-certified in Hyperbaric and Dive Medicine and Family Practice with a certificate of added qualification in Sports Medicine, Dr. Paul Johnson completed his medical school at the University of North Dakota with his Family Practice residency in South Bend, Indiana and a Sports Medicine fellowship with the University of Notre Dame.
Dr. Johnson deployed overseas while in the Army Reserve and currently, he serves as the State Surgeon and Flight Surgeon for the Montana Army National Guard. He is dedicated to the healing powers of hyperbaric oxygen therapy and has presented to local organizations and medical conferences locally and nationally.
